House and Senate Release Committee Schedules

Senate President Peter Courtney and House Speaker-Designee Dave Hunt released the schedule of committees for their respective bodies today. Committee hearings will begin Thursday, January 15, 2009.

“These committees will do the bulk of the work we need to accomplish this legislative session,” said Hunt. “As we did last session, we expect to hit the ground running, hold substantive hearings early in the session and begin moving critical bills through the House early.”

“Oregonians have historically taken an active role in the Legislative process. The literally hundreds of public hearings these committees will hold will provide that opportunity for the people of our state once again,” Courtney said.
