PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — TriMet is facing multiple tort claims from people who were injured while riding MAX trains, including one incident in which a man was killed.

Two of those claims stem from a Nov. 15 incident when a MAX train collided with a Portland Streetcar near Northeast 7th Avenue and Holladay Street.

In addition, a wrongful death claim has been filed against TriMet after a Dec. 21 incident that led to a man’s death. The lawsuit claims that man’s coat was caught in a MAX door, causing him to be dragged behind the train.

KOIN 6 News reached out to TriMet. They said they don’t comment on pending litigation.
