The Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles said a system that had been down for more than two days, preventing the processing of driver's licenses and identification cards, was restored Wednesday afternoon.

The outage was first reported on Monday.

DMV said Wednesday that it was a system configuration issue that it had never experienced before. As a result, DMV said it took some time to work with its vendor to solve the problem.

"Our experts worked around the clock with our vendor to successfully restore the system for all customers this afternoon," DMV said in a statement.
