Jewish artwork vandalized in Portland

A large decorative fountain was donated by a grateful Jewish immigrant in 1926 to the City of Portland as a thanks for the City’s kindness.

During recent the PSU library anti-Israel riot (a few blocks from the fountain), this very artwork was vandalized.  Three brass bowls were stolen from it.

The fountain was along the same park blocks that once housed a statue of Abraham Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt — until rioters tore those down in 2020.

Slowly over time, every piece of public art and memorial has been wrecked by rioters.
