Members of the Oregon School Boards Association, including Nancy MacMorris-Adix of the Salem-Keizer School Board, will travel to the U.S. Capitol next week to meet with congressional members about education policy and funding.

The members from Oregon plan on discussing the No Child Left Behind Act, the Child Nutrition Act and federal funding for Title I and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act in meetings scheduled for Feb. 3, said a press release from the Oregon School Boards Association.

Concerning the association’s campaign, The Promise of Oregon, members will also discuss solutions for continued support of public schools through timber payments.

The group of eight board members will meet with U.S. Senators Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley and other U.S. representatives.
