PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -– A convicted sex offender is accused of stalking a Multnomah County deputy district attorney, court records show.

Shane Vondell Greene, 53, remains in the Multnomah County Detention Center. He is being held on charges of failure to register as a sex offender, possession of meth and stalking. He is also being held on a parole violation.

Greene was arrested by Portland Police last Tuesday and booked into jail at 9:36 p.m., court records show. Deputy District Attorney Nicole Jergovic told Portland Police Officer David Harding while she was walking her dogs, Greene asked if he could pet them. While Greene was petting the dogs, he asked if she was in law enforcement. Jergovic said yes. When asked what branch, Jergovic said she was a prosecutor. Greene, “began yelling at her,” according to court documents. He went on to claim Jergovic had a secret indictment against him. Jergovic was alarmed by Greene’s behavior and walked away, court records show. Greene continued to follow the prosecutor and she told him to stop.

During another encounter, Jergovic reported she saw Greene outside her home. He approached her as she walked to the gym, court records show. Greene reportedly yelled, “Hey, prosecutor, are you out to get me?!,” court documents state. Greene told Jergovic he doesn’t like law enforcement and asked her if she was going to cause him problems. The prosecutor said “You leave me alone, I’ll leave you alone,” according to court documents.

In a third encounter on Sunday, June 21, Jergovic was in a park near her home when she saw Greene. He said, “Hey, prosecutor, apology accepted?,” court documents state. Jergovic reportedly said “sure whatever, stay off the radar screen,” according to court documents. She then walked home.

The next day, on Monday, June 22, Jergovic was about to leave her home when she saw Greene across the street on the sidewalk. “He was not moving, but stared at her house,” court documents state. When she made contact with Greene, he walked away. Later, when Jergovic was leaving, she saw Greene apparently urinating on a tree. She ignored him. “But (Greene) zipped up his zipper and said, ‘I have a question about what you said,’” court documents state.

Finally, Jergovic called police on June 23 when Greene approached her. Portland Police Officer Gary Doran found white powder, which turned out to be meth, court documents state. He was also found in possession of a pipe.

Greene has a lengthy criminal record. He has been convicted of nine felonies, eight misdemeanors and 16 probation violations.

Greene was arraigned June 24 and a not guilty plea was entered on his behalf. He is expected to appear in court July 2 for a preliminary hearing.

Jergovic prosecutes felony crimes, including murders, vehicular homicides and she specializes in animal abuse and neglect cases.
