News in brief.

Kate Brown, Bud Pierce and the Independent Party of Oregon have all officially endorsed Measure 98.

They’re joined by former governor Ted Kulongoski and many other individuals and organizations.

Measure 98, previously known as Initiative Petition 65, would  require $800 per student be spent on career technical education, early college readiness education and dropout prevention.

“We won these endorsements because no matter where you are on the political spectrum, Oregon still has the fourth worst graduation rate in the country,” said Dave Rosenfeld, Yes on 98 campaign manager, in a statement. “We need to do something about this now.”

Oregonians will vote on the measure in November.
