A Republican state lawmaker is hoping to become Oregon's next governor, ending a three-decade run of Democrats in the office.
Bend representative Knute Buehler sat down with KATU’s Steve Dunn to talk about his plans for Oregon.
One topic they cover in this edition of “Your Voice, Your Vote” is funding for public schools.
“We've never had more money going to k-12 schools in the history of the state of Oregon. The problem is it's not getting to the classrooms; it's not getting to the kids. It's going to pay for benefits. We have to have PERS reform,” said Buehler.
They also go over why Rep. Buehler believes that voters are ready to elect a Republican to the governor’s seat.
