A GoFundMe page was created to offset the fees imposed by governor Kate Brown following the Cap and Trade debate in Salem. The page's creator Carol Williams, said funds are ready to be sent after the page reached over $39,000.

Making sure money is going to the right places, however, is important, according to Medford City Councilman Kevin Stine.

"While this person just wanted to help out some politicians that she believed were doing the right thing, that's fine. But when you get into campaign finance, especially with political things people need to be kind of careful on who they're giving money to," Stine said.

Stine says this is problematic due to reporting requirements, putting wrong dates, and other issues.

Again, he mentioned he agrees with supporting something you believe in, but making sure money is going to the right place for a supported cause is important.

The Cap and Trade dilemma in Salem over the past few months caused tension between democrats and republicans.

As both sides did not reach an agreement initially, this resulted in republican representatives leaving the state.

Governor Brown imposed a fee on each day representatives were not in the capital.
