CENTRAL POINT — Residents of Central Point are invited to participate in an Oregon Water Resources Department (OWRD) outreach meetings in Central Point on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, from 5:30-8 p.m.
"Modernizing groundwater allocation is a top priority for the Water Resources Commission," OWRD said in a release. "Updating the policy is important to protect senior surface water and groundwater users across the state and to maintain sustainable groundwater resources."
The agency noted that updating groundwater allocation will not impact those with exempt use wells (such as domestic wells and wells used for stock watering purposes).
This meeting will review of Oregon’s current framework for groundwater allocation and initial proposals for revisions of the groundwater allocation process by:
This meeting will provide an opportunity for meeting participants to ask questions and provide feedback either verbally or in writing.
Public parking for this event is located at the auditorium on both sides of Mosquito Lane.
Accessible parking spots are available at the front of the lot nearest the building.
The Auditorium is the third building from the right and can be accessed through a set of double doors at the front of the building.
