Oregon City Commissioners have unanimously passed a vote-of-no-confidence measure against Mayor Dan Holladay, saying several of his actions have been “detrimental” to the city.

The vote happened at the commission’s Wednesday, July 1 meeting.

Commissioners said they lost confidence in Holladay after he threatened to defy Gov. Kate Brown’s stay-at-home order, violated rules of procedures, solicited private donations for a fireworks show and for social media posts about Black Lives Matter demonstrations.

In a city news release, commissioners said Holladay’s actions have “led to a loss of faith in his ability to effectively lead the community and the Commission.”

They accused him of putting his own interests over the commission’s and the community’s.

Holladay declined to comment Thursday evening.

Critics have launched a recall campaign.

The commission has hired a third party to investigate the mayor’s actions.
