Clatskanie residents wishing to smell the salt air and feel the Pacific Ocean winds are just an hours drive away from the Oregon Coast. And now there are efforts in the works to harness the coast winds as an energy source.

Oregon State University (OSU) will receive a $2 million grant from the Department of Energy to study the impact of offshore winds on the environment.
